Jewellery Workshop with Alijah Hussain

JOIN ALIYAH HUSSAIN, JEWELLERY DESIGNER AND VISUAL ARTIST FOR A CLAY JEWELLERY WORKSHOP AT THE PILCROW IN MANCHESTER.

On this workshop you will be taught coiling and tubing techniques that you will use to make the shapes that will form the main part of at least two unique necklaces. You will also learn decorating techniques such as marbling and terrazzo effect.

We will be using polymer clay, which is a versatile and durable material that comes in a huge range of bold bright colours and is perfectly adaptable for jewellery making. Once you have made your pieces you can then take them home to bake in your own oven.

Wander Beyond Tasting

Wander Beyond the mundane and into the fantastical.

We will be joined by the guys from Wander Beyond, hosting a bottle tasting from their 'Into The Woods' range. An 11% Imperial stout with the following additions:

-Part 1 - Red Wine Barrel
-Part 2 - Whiskey Barrel
-Part 3 - Whiskey Barrel with ginger
-Part 4 - Whiskey Barrel with hawthorn and wolfberries

We will also be showcasing more of their beer on cask and keg from opening, a great chance to check out an up and coming local brewery.

All Imperial stout bottles will be exclusively for the tasting and tickets are limited.

The South Bermondsy micro-brewery Partizan will be taking over our taps Saturday 27th January, 2018 looking good already!

Bauble Bonanza!

Ho ho holy moly it's nearly Christmas!

The Sunday before Christmas Eve we are hosting a decorate your own bauble event to really get you all in the spirit of Christmas, if you haven't already!

18 years of NOTE Thomas Street has been thirsty work the guys have got together with Beatnikz Republic Brewing Co. and ourselves to produce their very own Worker Beer.

This is a refreshing pale ale made with the finest Australian Ella hops in a Manchester microbrewery not far from Note itself. The perfect pint after work or a skate, look out for it at all the best Mancuian bars including The Pilcrow Pub, Common Bar, Port Street Beer House etc.

Wiper & True Tap Take Over

The guys from Bristol will be joining us here at The Pilcrow Pub for a Tap Takeover and Meet The Brewer!

We are stoked to be apart of the first release of their barrel ageing programme. We will be launching the Winter Palace imperial stout, barrel aged in Rye Whiskey casks(10.3%). Be the first to try it here and also be able to taste it beside the original (9.4%).

Beatnik Republic Brewing Co Tap Take Over

Beatnikz Republic Brewing Co.’s Paul Greetham has been brewing since 2015 as a one man band, gypsy style brewer (round of applause guys) however after a successful crowdfunding campaign he secured his own brewing kit to keep up his increasing demand for his bevs.

Originally brewing in London Paul moved the brewery to good old Manchester in early 2017 has gone from strength to strength since production started.

Whilst Beatnik Republic is only just around the corner from The Pilcrow we believe a showcase of some of their best brews is well over due.

Sadler's Yard Summer Jam

SADLER'S YARD SUMMER JAM IS BACK FOR 2017!

Sadler's Yard Summer Jam is back. Get ready to celebrate a summer of great music, food and beer at this year's Summer Jam on Saturday 5th August...it's back and jammier than ever.

There will be a range of acts across four stages covering surf rock and spoken word to jazz and soul, meaning there's truly something for everyone!

MAIN STAGE: Brunelle, Ry Vieira, Koalas, Beach Skulls, Tony Walsh and Hot Shorts all supported by DJ sets from Ailsa McLaggan and Pasta Paul.

ACOUSTIC: Claire Victoria, Jennifer Reid, Jo Rose, Jess Kemp and Jack Conman.

PLANT NOMA: Free wheeling ceramics throwing workshop with Charlie Manthorp, Noisy Toys upcycling workshop, and an interactive experimental gramophone session with artist Naomi Kashiwagi.

THE PILCROW: DJ set from Betters Days.

FOOD: Indulge with Big Grillie Style, Que Delicia, and Pietanic.

DRINK: The Pilcrow will be open as normal & we'll also have a pop up pub pouring smashable session beers all day long.
